Plant It Forward Farms invites you to enjoy your own weekly box of our fresh, local produce through our Farm Share program which helps ensure our efforts to give newly arrived refugees access to the American dream. You, the socially and environmentally conscious consumer, will be supporting local farmers and their families to earn a living by farming sustainably on urban farms in Houston. What’s coming up in the next seasons?

The Fall-Winter vegetables, until late April and into May, include kale, spinach, collards, radishes, beets, carrots, turnips, Swiss chard, French sorrel, arugula, salad mixes, bok choy, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cilantro, dill, fennel, and green onions. Sugar peas will also be available in winter and early spring.

The Spring vegetables, starting in late April to May, include tomatoes, peppers, radishes, beets, carrots, jalapenos, eggplant, summer squash, green beans, arugula, cucumbers, collards, kale, fennel, mint and other herbs.

The Summer vegetables include winter squash (hard squashes), edamame, fresh black-eyed peas, eggplant, basil, peppers, okra, arugula, cucumbers, green onions, roselle greens & pods (fresh hibiscus tea), malabar spinach, water spinach, amaranth, long beans, possibly cantaloupe if weather cooperates, and even watermelon if weather cooperates.

How much does it cost?

$24/week , Petit Portion | $35/week , Grand Portion

    • You have the option to sign up for 4, 12, 24, or 52 weekly deliveries.
      • 12 deliveries – 5% discount
      • 24 deliveries – 5% discount
      • 52 deliveries – 5% discount
    • You can place a delivery hold on your account if you anticipate needing to miss a scheduled delivery.
    • SNAP (Lonestar Card) participants can receive 50% off full price of all Farm Shares with a week-to-week subscription.

Where will I pick up my weekly Farm Share?

We have pick-up locations all over Houston! Visit the registration link to view our current locations.

*Note: New pick-up locations can be created if a group of 20 people or more is established. If you would like to form a group please contact farmshareprogram@plant-it-forward.org for more information. 

Information for Home Delivery subscribers:

We are piloting Home Delivery in order to be most responsive to the particular conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are offering Home Delivery to certain Houston-area zip codes at this time:

Wednesdays (delivery window 12:00-6:00pm) Region: South/Southwest: 77003, 77004, 77005, 77021, 77025, 77030, 77035, 77036, 77045, 77054, 77071, 77074, 77085, 77096, 77401

Thursdays (delivery window 12:00-6:00pm) Region: Near West: 77024, 77027, 77042, 77055, 77056, 77057, 77063, 77072, 77077, 77079

Fridays (delivery window 12:00-6:00pm) Region: Central/North: 77006, 77007,  77008, 77009, 77018, 77019, 77098

A delivery fee of $6.35 will be applied to every distribution to cover transportation costs. Please note our packaging does not ensure temperature control.

Information for SNAP (Lonestar) subscribers:

We are able to offer Farm Shares at 50% off the regular price to customers paying with their SNAP (Lonestar) card thanks to our participation in Double Up Texas!

During the sign-up process please disregard all dollar amounts posted. Choose SNAP as your payment method during check-out and you will not be charged. A Plant It Forward staffperson will reach out to you within 3 business days to collect payment information.

Your SNAP (Lonestar) card will be charged once-a-week before your next scheduled Farm Share delivery. Please login to your online account whenever you need to place a delivery hold. Please note delivery holds must be placed at least 1 week in advance. To cancel your subscription at any time please email farmshareprogram@plant-it-forward.org
