Caramelized onion and pecan brussel sprouts

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bag brussel sprouts (12 oz)
  • ¼ c butter
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut onions in half and thinly slice
  2. Cut brussel sprouts in half, and then cut each half into thin pieces.
  3. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat, add pecans and sauté 5 minutes or until toasted. Remove pecans. Add onion and cook, stirring often, 15 minutes or until caramel color.
  4. Add pecans and brussel sprouts and cook for 3 minutes or until heated. Salt and pepper and serve.
