Brussels Sprouts with Ginger and Sesame seeds

Ingredients

  • 1 CSA bag Brussels sprouts (~12oz)
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. dry sherry or vermouth
  • 1 Tbsp. peanut oil
  • 1 Tbsp. minced ginger

Instructions

  1. Drop sprouts into a pot of salted boiling water. Boil for 4 min over high heat or until tender.
  2. In a heavy skillet, toast sesame seeds over moderate heat for a minute or two until evenly browned.
  3. Pour seeds onto a plate and set aside.
  4. Drain the sprouts and spread them out on a towel and set aside.
  5. Stir together the honey, salt, and sherry and set aside.
  6. Heat peanut oil in the same skillet, add ginger, and stir over medium heat until lightly colored. Add sprouts and toss to coat. Add sherry mixture and toss about one minute.
  7. Transfer to serving dish.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
